Supertrickler? Good bad and ugly?

How many of you guys are using the supertrickler? I’ve got mine on order, expected June delivery but reading about a lot of trouble and issues throwing several different types of powder that I use regularly. Varget, H4350, N140 etc
What is your experience, that’s a lot of money for it not to work as intended.

I haven’t had any issues. I mainly use Varget, H4350, and StaBALL. I have never updated the firmware. Because I haven’t seen a need to. I let the AI learn the powders and after that it drops faster than I can seat a bullet. The speed and accuracy are unbelievable. I think tonight it was dropping 43.4g of StaBALL in around 4-5 seconds. Literally faster than I can set a bullet. I had been using a Autotrickler V4, which also worked great. It just wasn’t nearly as fast.

Which one of the units is quieter?............Thanks

I no longer have the Autotrickler but if memory serves me, they are about the same. However the Supertrickler has a warmup period built in. It will then sound a chime occasionally to remind you it’s ready. You could probably turn this feature off if needed.

I’ve had zero issues with mine. I think most of the problems you see are from users who don’t read and follow the manual.

Thanks Bart, yours was the reason I ordered one, I watched you loading at the Shamrock and I think I only seen it throw a “red” charge a couple times in both days while I was watching

Zero issues with mine. Had it throwing charges and loading ammo within 30 mins of getting it into the shop. I still prefer my Prometheus Gen 2 if I want to have EXACT charges that I KNOW are EXACT, but otherwise, I use the heck out of the ST. Simple, accurate (to extent electronic scales can be), fast and efficient.

it will do so to within .02+/- about every 10 seconds, or better. you are, of course, limited by the electronic scale, as its still electronic, not mechanical. Slow it down to 20 secs and it should hit 90% of the charges to the kernal. Even for my 1,000 yard palma ammo, I am not going to toss out a charge that is off by a kernal of powder (.02gr). Its not going to show on the target.

No issues with mine, although it throws Varget more slowly compared to the likes of H4350, H4831sc and H1000. It will occasionally overthrow, but maybe 2-3 out of 50 which is no biggie. I think the upcoming firmware update is supposed to improve Varget throwing as some people have had issues with it. I do appreciate the fact there is room to improve the unit through firmware updates.

I get the impression from the Facebook group that if you order the scale with the trickler it takes your total above a certain amount and you may have to pay import duties. Something to be aware of or look into.

It’s a great unit. It took some playing with to figure it out. It’s like an adult fidget spinner. It’s addictive working with it to make it go faster and faster.

Bart
Well, I just pulled the trigger, mid July delivery (maybe). V4 is great so no rush. EDIT: I do wish the V4 was faster but like others have said with the ST the next load is ready before they finish seating the bullet, I'm having to wait on the V4 to finish taking a dump to load. We shall see.

Is there any downside to purchasing the scale separately from a different source? I ask because the scale can often be had cheaper. The thing that caught my attention is this.

No. All you have to do is follow the programming instructions. Scales (like mine) that were set up for autotricklers need to be factory reset and then programmed for the ST. It’s all in the manual.
