Superior C S from Vortex

I wanted to take the time to thank Vortex for having exemplary customer service on their products-- this one is not a big ticket item however it was handled superbly (akin to the legendary RCBS service)
While mounting the PTO shaft on my tractor and fighting the hookup, I placed my Vortex sunglasses and iPhone and can of Kroil on the front wheel of the tractor - yeah, bad idea.
After soaking the pto attachment in Kroil and using all of my 4 letter words the job was done. I jumped into the cab and was headed off to mow the fields until my wife who just happened t be there to watch and make sure I did not get smooshed by the implement started waving frantically -- looking down I saw the crushed can of Kroil and my sunglasses --thank the Lord above the phone fell just outside the path of the wheel.
Well, what the heck, a phone call to test the warranty of my Vortex glasses.
I explained to Zach, the customer service rep EXACTLY what I did and how their glasses do not stand up to a 7 thousand pound tractor wheel - after a short discussion I submitted a photo of the earthly remains of said glasses and he said within minutes I received confirmation of a new pair on the way.
I truly did not expect them to honor the warranty because of my carelessness but they did, so thanks again to Vortex

In a world where service is becoming a rarity it is nice to know that there are still a few of the shooting industry companies that are stand up organizations and no, I have no affiliation with the firm

I have had a similar experience with vortex. Outstanding warranty. It’s somewhat of a double edged sword as I’ve heard many people say, their scopes have a great warranty, however, sooner or later you’ll need to use it.

Yup the no fault warranty is great. I just had to send in a Spitfire AR that I had used in a few years and I went to take off the battery cap to change the battery and that thing would not come off. I called and sent it in and they sent me a new one as the battery had corroded and jammed up the old one. They advised to use lithium batteries so it won’t happen again and I will.

They sent me a USPS prepaid label and got mine on Friday and I had a new one the following Friday. Can’t complain about that.

Great post, thanks.

I have a buddy that loves his Nightforce glass and I certainly understand that they're good scopes but he just cant believe that I prefer Vortex. Maybe it's my rube eyes but I can't see a difference in color/clarity out to 800 (our local range) and when we shoot for score at 400-600 they haven't been a detriment.

That EBR-1 reticle was spot on, wish they'd bring it back.

Haven't had to use the warranty yet but as much as I drop things that's kind of surprising.

I have shot them side by side and agree with you 100%.

PLUS! They really treat veterans well.

I have to agree with you totally as well! I have a Strike Eagle on my CZ 457 and I came across a used Copperhead at my local gun store for a $100 with rings mounted on it. So I bought it to put on my RMM 30-30.
When I got home and on the bench I removed the rings because I needed taller rings. Upon removing the rings I found that the person that mounted this scope severely over tightened the rings and dented the main tube which in turn goofed up the internals.
I just figured I wasted $100 but decided to call and talk with Kathy at Vortex and freely told her that this was a used scope so I was happy to pay for it to be repaired. Within 2 minutes I had a label mailed to me with the answer ABSOLUTELY NOT! We will take care of this for you!
Still waiting for it to get back from them but just the fact that they are taking care of the scope for me is outstanding!

Have been a Vortex customer for eight years now and the one issue I had with a scope was resolved much the same as the OP's was .
Your fault , My fault , Nobodies Fault , they stand behind their products .
It's why I have three GE's on my rifles .

A few years ago, I lost one of the turrets Rees on a Golden Eagle scope. I called them and asked if I could get a replacement for it, they told me certainly and within a few days I received a pack of several of the screws. They were however the wrong screws. I called them about it, very nicely asking if I could get the right ones. They apologized and said they would send them right out. A few days later a box arrived from them. The box contained the screws, but they were contained in a brand new turret. They also send a metal wall sign, a Vortex hat and a whole bunch of stickers. They are just great!

Ok so I just got my scope back from Vortex when I got home from church and I was truely blown away. Brand new scope with a Vortex cap to boot! Couldn’t be happier!

I think another Strike Eagle is in the near future for my Weatherby

They get alot of flack in these forums for glass quality and durability, my experience is in their price range they compete pretty well. I have only used the warranty once, and it was due to my carelessness, no fault of Vortex. New part mailed right away no questions asked.

Their CS is a breath of fresh air....I need to look at them more often when planning a purchase.

Yup people don’t realize they make scopes from $150 to $3000 so when they buy the cheapest scope and have an issue all of a sudden all Vortex scopes suck. lol Definitely not the case and even when buying their cheapest line you know if you have an issue it will be taken care of promptly.
