I wanted to take the time to thank Vortex for having exemplary customer service on their products-- this one is not a big ticket item however it was handled superbly (akin to the legendary RCBS service)
While mounting the PTO shaft on my tractor and fighting the hookup, I placed my Vortex sunglasses and iPhone and can of Kroil on the front wheel of the tractor - yeah, bad idea.
After soaking the pto attachment in Kroil and using all of my 4 letter words the job was done. I jumped into the cab and was headed off to mow the fields until my wife who just happened t be there to watch and make sure I did not get smooshed by the implement started waving frantically -- looking down I saw the crushed can of Kroil and my sunglasses --thank the Lord above the phone fell just outside the path of the wheel.
Well, what the heck, a phone call to test the warranty of my Vortex glasses.
I explained to Zach, the customer service rep EXACTLY what I did and how their glasses do not stand up to a 7 thousand pound tractor wheel - after a short discussion I submitted a photo of the earthly remains of said glasses and he said within minutes I received confirmation of a new pair on the way.
I truly did not expect them to honor the warranty because of my carelessness but they did, so thanks again to Vortex
In a world where service is becoming a rarity it is nice to know that there are still a few of the shooting industry companies that are stand up organizations and no, I have no affiliation with the firm
