Super Sniper scope

I shook a 20X SS loose and spun the reticle glass on a Barrett 99.
It's been in for a few months waiting for replacement.
I've also got one of the ss 10x42M side focus that has been a good scope for the money .
How many rounds did it take?
I have a 20x, it hasn't been on nothing bigger than a .300wm shooting a stout load with 208 Hornaday bullets, no brake. It functions perfectly.

Less than 100.
It was a handful of years ago and I was working up loads with the 99.
During one of the range trips the POI started wandering and soon got bad enough that you could clearly see the reticle glass was rotated to about 15-20 degrees off of plumb. I swapped it for the SS10x42M and that survives today. Shortly after this, I moved from the Barret to a Robar RC-50 and a Leupold MK4 8.5-25x50 and this has been on the rifle for the past 10 years or so.
The SS10x42M is on loan to a buddy so he could start tuning his new Tikka T3X Tac-A1 in 6.5 CM.

The broken 20X sat in the reloading room for quite a while until I read a replacement story last Fall about SWFA being easy to deal with regarding repair/replacement. I sent it in in December and have been waiting for them to get a shipment in to replace it. I'm on their list for an upgrade to the 10x42 MMQ as I've been focused on getting rid of all MIL/MOA scopes in my herd and moving to only MIL/MIL for all of my precision scopes.

Friday morning my warranty/replacement scope arrived.
The scope I broke was a SS20x42 MIL/MOA.
The scope opted for is the SS10x42MQ MIL/MIL.

First impressions: The Mil Quad reticle is WAY more refined than the old MIL dot was. The aiming points are much finer and don't obscure the target like the old style does. The glass appears to be noticeably brighter and clearer. The parallax/focus feels like it's turning easier and smoother. The turrets have a more positive click, less mushy feel than the older model.

Mounted it to my suppressed 44 mag. the fact that it will focus down to about 10yds is nice. This rifle shoots 300gr subs and has the trajectory of a Howitzer. My plan is to use the reticle to establish holds for most of the usable range with this load and do very little dialing of the turrets.
This Summer, I'll be taking it to the long range and see just how far it will reach on steel before it runs out of gas.

I have one more old SS10x42M and I'm planning to trade that in towards a SS10x42MMQ.
This is the side parallax knob. The only thing stopping me is that they don't have those back in stock yet.
Hopefully soon, as I'm not willing to give up the side focus, but I really want all of my stuff to be MIL/MIL.
