Super Shoot Texas!

Well, don’t know but first match is 2021, who knows if we will be above dirt by then! I was looking to see where Ennis Tx was and it looks like its about 900 miles closer for me!
 
Yes that is correct, Kelblys has a contract for the super shoot that ends in 2020. Talking with Jim K last year he said that The numbers have been trending down for participation and that they have to scale back their production for several weeks to put on the super shoot. I hope I live long enough to attend when they start them in Texas, If you attended the match at Kelblys one time, you just want to keep going, We couldn’t go this year but I am planning on being there for 2019 &20.
I remember my friend that attended almost every year, and he used to say there were 400+ competitors now its 250-275! That’s why they added the Rail Guns last year was in hopes more shooters would attend.
 
I live 1/2 hour from Kelbly’s and have visited the Super Shoot for 20 years and attendance sure has declined. Commercial row use to be 5-6 vendors and past few years Lester Bruno is the only one and his inventory is less.
 
I can name more than five or six that used to be on Vendors Row but you are right. The Vendors Row is merely a spot now. I don't know why that came to be. I can also remember that Kelbly's limit of no more than 7 relays meant something.
 
I know this is an old thread but I was looking to see when will be the last SS at Kelbly’s. My son Josh and I shot the SS in 2005,6 and 7. It was quite a match then with 7 relays of shooters. I guit going because the drive to Ohio was a killer and I could drive 300 miles and shoot at Raton. The same amount of shooting over a weekend instead of spreading it out over 4 days. Of course, no where near the number of shooters at Raton as at Kelbly’s. Looking forward to the SS being in Texas or from what I hear at St. Louis until Shilen gets their range built.

Someone please correct me if they know differently but I believe this is the last ss at Kelbly's and last one run by them. Iirc, 2021 ss is owned by Shilen and will be held in St Louis on an interim basis while the range in Texas is aquired and built.
If anyone has any updates or corrections to add, please do...but this is how I recall the last that I heard.
