Super Shoot 2007

Shooters
This is Super Shoot week in N. Lawrence,Ohio aka Kelbly's range. They start today for the 4 day extravaganza. Truly a World Class event. Just visiting the vendors could keep you busy for the whole week. Good Luck to all the shooters. We shall see who can survive the possible 7 Relay Shoot. Two gun event 10 1/2# and 13 1/2# guns. I'm not there because I'm not there. Hope to make it to Kelbly's for the NBRSA Nats later in the year.

Super Shoot
Day 1 LV 100

Borrowing from BRC the 1st day 100 yd LV winners are.
1. Gary Conaway .1888 agg
2. Lowell Hottenstein .1932 agg
3. Jeff Summers .2018 agg
4. Larry Costa .2116 agg
5. James Mock .2128 agg

Of the top 20 I know all but 4 but that doesn't mean anything, I don't know Gary Conaway. JDS said there were good conditions. Only 2 aggs in the 1's indicates to me that there were enough conditions to keep most shooters out of the .1 groups. Congrats Gary. Five HoF shooters in the top 20. Be nice if somebody would share the number of shooters.
Gary Sinclair of our former San Gabriel Group and current SW Region Director placed 10th.
Tomorrow 100 yd HV.

Super Shoot
Day 2 HV 100

Second day still manageable conditions.
HV 100 winners:
1. Bill Gammon .1584 agg
2. Jim Carmichel .1764 agg
3. Lee Euber .1894 agg
4. Kent Harshman .1906 agg
5. Joe Krupa .1920 agg

The doubling up on good 100 yd aggs give an indication that there could a first time Super Shoot winner among the 100 yd winners. The one I have noticed the last couple years finishing high at the Major events is Larry Costa from Florida. Jim Carmichel a buddy shooter of mine has 2 top 20 finishes along with Ron Hoehn and Allen Arnette. 200 yds can wipe out any of the early leads in 1 group. If the weather holds there will be some .2 aggs if a front comes in the aggs could go everywhere. But with the amount of top shooters several will shoot great tomorrow no matter what the weather.
Carmichel is sitting on a .1954 agg after 2 days. That puts him in the lead. If he starts with a good group like a .3 in HV 200 I would say he will be off to the races. Good Luck Jim and all Super Shoot contenders.

2. Steve Robbins .2240
3. Lee Euber .2307
4. Gene Buckys .2443
5. Joe Krupa .2457

The 1,2,3 HV grand aggs are have pulled away from the rest but the 1st day LV 100 added in places Jeff Summers the leader if my math holds up. Others after 3 aggs doing well are Lowell Hottenstein, Jim Carmichel, Gene Buckys, Larry Costa.
We can't see below the top 20. There could be somebody hanging at 21 on all the aggs which could set them up for a high finish. Some indications of a storm today. All should be prepared for nasty weather tomorrow if it happens usually does sometime during the Super Shoot. Good Luck Shooters.

Day 4 LV 200
LV Grand Super Shoot Champ

This appear to be over at Kelbly's. Partying should be done and people are either sleeping or driving home. Congratulations to Steve Robbins for the in. Unbelievable 200 yd shooting today. Weather must have held. Still like to know how many shot and what Countries had shooters. Somehow sometime I would like to shoot the Super Shoot.

1. Steve Robbins .2298
2. Lowell Hottenstein .2349
3. Kent Harshman .2356
4. Jeff Summers .2439
5. Larry Costa .2446

I've always said in a big shoot with changing conditions a .25 grand agg does well. Happens at the Cactus as well as the Super Shoot. Tony Boyer had a 2 Gun .2531 agg and he finished 9th. Today's shooting was the best of the 4 days. the top 20 shooters shot aggs less than .2400, that is phenomenal for 200 yd shooting. Like to see the equipment list later. Items like powder, primers, and rests aren't important here. Scopes, barrels, and bullets are more interesting.
Great shooting by Gary Sinclair our So Cal shooter. He placed 7 th in the LV Grand. And Jim Carmichel placing 13th in the 2 Gun, not bad for a guy that only competes maybe twice a year.
BR is a great Sport along with the other shooting disciplines this Forum covers. Thanks to JDS and Ian for posting the resuts. The final report I heard, the 2007 Super Shoot had 340+ competitors, that's 6 relays.
