Super Clean Brass makes hard to seat bullets. Help?

I have been cleaning my brass with stainless steel media, and I have noticed that i am having the "super clean" brass issue. I am having difficulty seating my bullets. i use a hydro bullet seater and noticed that the pressure spikes significantly with super clean brass.

My question is, what do I need to seat bullets more consistently and smoothly after cleaning my brass?

I use the Redding Dry neck lube, but instead of dipping the necks in I dip the bullet base in to about where the bullet will sit in the case. When doing it this way I dont have to wipe the excess off the outside of the neck. Bullets seat nice a buttery smooth.

I've tried the dry lubes, but messy. With new brass I have been putting a small bit of case lube( mine is home made: lanolin, 10w-30 and atf) on my finger and rubbing the bullet when seating. Bullets stay put when I seat them .020 into the lands.

I also use the 21st Century hydro press and use less neck tension (I use .0015) and use Redding dry case lube.

I too seat my 6XC bullets .020" into the lands with no problem.

I just use a little HBN mixed with clean corn cob and tumble for about 20 min and the problem is gone

Try using 4-0 steel wool on one smaller brass brush to polish the inside of the case neck. Otherwise, use lubed bullets or a case neck lubricator with either graphite, moly or HBN.

I had the same problem for a while. Forget the dry lube, that is way to messy and it doesn't fix the problem it just works around it. There are at least two reasons for you to have difficulty seating the bullet. One is too much neck tension, you're squeezing down the neck too much. The other is that you may be annealing your brass after you clean it. I don't have this problem with boat tailed projectiles. Sometimes I do with flat based projectiles. In the latter situation, I either dip the case neck in graphite mixed with birdshot or dip the base of the bullet in the graphite. Both work fine....

Take that M die top with the mandrel attached and put in a drill chuck and spin it. When you see it wobble you won't feel so smug.

A shooter more experienced than I am, told me to apply a little Imperial Die Wax to the bullet just ahead of the boatail.

Next I expand the case neck with a K&M expander mandrel, then seat the bullet. Very consistent seating pressure and very consistent on target.

So, lately I'm wondering why my bullets are making a slight noise during seating. Never did it before. Then I read this post and it hits me...I had started annealing after I cleaned the brass!!

My best method was to forget about the necks and coat the bullets with either moly or now, I am using HBN
