Super Bowl

I respect and understand your point. I have to say though. In the big scheme of things there are bigger issues to take a stand against. Those idiots sitting during the anthem has little impact on me or the country as a whole other than to confirm they are idiots. I served my country as you did. I respect your position. I ask that you respect mine even if you don't agree with it.

I enjoyed the game. The anthem was nice. If anyone was sitting, I didn't see it.

To each his own ,but when it comes to disrespect of the flag and anthem I have to draw the line . They are number one to me guess that is why they call us Jarheads...........LOL

The real athlete's are pop warner and high school kids that play sports. They play because they love the game and haven't been polluted by the all mighty buck. I can't understand fans of these pro teams and athletes. Do u think they really give a FK about you. Go ask all the players to play just one season with wages like you or I made or make. Tell them to do it for the fans and see what happens. Just think about that one then tell me how great these bozo's are.
Better yet ship them off to boot camp and learn appreciation and respect. Don't get me wrong as there are good honest American players that must really be embarassed and ashamed of there club

Hear hear !
I work with a few guys that are infatuated with sports,, all f-ing day,, it's all I hear.. I am so happy when things like the SB, or the world series, or the Stanley cup, or the basketball brackets, are over, because then they actually do work, instead of stand around quarter-backing last nights game.
I have seen a few actually get red in the face, arguing with each other about some coaches decision, or a referees call.

You should attend some of the little league games in your area. You will see the same kind of stupid acted out by "adults" in front of their children.

All of mine have left the nest,, well sort of.
But I remember seeing some of those jerks, dads pacing behind the backstop, yelling at referees calls, and the look of disgust when their child made an error.
One incident still hangs with me, when the game was over, everybodys walking back to the parking lot, the kid ahead of us, walking with his dad. asked if he could still have a "sleep-over" at his friends that night. His dad growled at him, No ! , Maybe when you learn to catch the f-ing ball ! , ( he had blundered a pop-fly to center field, that gave the other team 2 runs )
.
I wonder now, how that kid turned out.

Spent the time working on one of my Gdaughter's custom 12# recurve. She's 7 and has been a "regular" on 3D courses for 3 years now. This is her '18 bow and 4th season.Still a one pce....the next will be a take down.Fletched up natural grey with red barred cock feather on white dipped and crested 5/16" cedar arrows. She shoots 100 g tips.Fast flite string w/silencers.Struggling today getting the scaled down bow quiver fitted.Black leather hoody, based on a Bear quiver.

I'd easily put her up against any NFL player for desire,appreciation,talent....just sayin.

This is the first year i did not watch a single minute of the super bowl. The NFL pissed me off not letting that veterans group PURCHASE time to ask everyone to stand for the National Anthem. I watched the Military History Channel instead.
did not watch one lousy minute all year long watched a CD [open range]

Thats what really set me off as well ,I guess that Pretty much shows there color(Yellow) Sure nice to be with the Red White and Blue

I did watch the game and am happy the underdog Eagles won but, loved the WAMBULANCE. As a veteran I hate the kneeling, not placing your hand over your heart, and ignorance of the so called protestors. J.J. Watts has shown how one player can help a community, let the protestors work/help in their communities as well.

Gents, although I really appreciate the support, and I’m sure most vets on this thread do as well, the national anthem doesn’t only represent vets. It represents all Americans. So them kneeling is disrespectful to all Americans, not just vets.

With that being said, I also respect their rights to kneel. If they want to kneel then so be it, even though I don’t agree with it, I won’t stop them at all. But I also reserve the right to not watch. I wish the NFL had lost 50% of their viewership. Not only because of that but because it’s a garbage, non profit organization, that somehow brings in billions of dollars a year, gets paid win tax payer money, and gives kids questionable role models to look up too.

This all started with "the jackass"( being nice) sitting!!!! Not kneeling! Even his teammates and fellow nfler's realized this was bad and encouraged him to kneel! NOW its a cause! BS! One mans cause is another mans disrespect! Sometimes you have to pick a side! Right or left. Black or white! I choose against sitting/kneeling. I'm going with our military heroes. JMO

I don't think they will give the real numbers. If they did sponsors would pull out. Kind of like the poll for president. Matt

There is a video on another thread where a guy describes the insanity of the player's and the US general population's over infatuation with sports. The gentleman speaks about the things that really matter. As some have eluded to on this thread, it is often present in early grade school. I don't have any answers as to how we switch focus in America from idolizing athletes, to prioritizing the things that truly matter in life. It seems unimaginable to me how "fans" justify burning, looting and destruction of property, because "their" team won. People involved with that behavior should be charged with a felony crime. There is absolutely no justification for destroying others personal property.

I think a lot of the butt head behavior in sports goes back to idolizing Muhammed Ali after his never ending "I am the greatest" antics. He was a bad example for young men who grew up to be adult jerks.
I was a teenager playing sports back then and I would have been banned from everything for that kind of behavior.
