Suggestions for wide forearm rest

GSPV

A failure to plan is a plan for failure.
I'm building a rifle for a class with no rules on stock profile and a 25 lb weight limit. One option is a 5 or 6 inch wide forearm and a 3" wide butt stock.

Any suggestions for a windage or joystick setup? Looking for something other than the obvious like SEB Max.

Keep in mind that I have been a 10.5/13.5 lb short range shooter and don't know diddly about this class.

If you buy a Borden top for a Farley, the inside measurement from end to end of the bag box is 6.5 inches. I think with a little thinning of the wedges on both ends and a custom bag from Protector, you can make it work well for a 5-inch fore end.

Butch Lambert made a run of wide front tops, up to 5" as I remember. Great guy and company to deal with.

Thanks guys. I actually have a Borden basket on my Farley. I'll give it a look see.

Don't overlook The Viper (forum member). He makes a great long range rest and a fine F Open rest in addition to making anything custom that you both agree to and you are willing to pay for. A great guy and an artist.

Thought about that. The Viper is fixed, not windage. States that a windage rear rest should be used. I'd be fine with that. What would a guy use with a 25 lb, 3" wide butt stock? As I said, I'm totally ignorant of the long-range bench game.

I would make or have made a top wide enough for your farley, thats what I did for my 4'' stock, then order a front and rear bag from protektor to your specs. I dont think you need a 3'' rear if your gonna use a 6'' front, it will be plenty stable, imo. A 25lb gun is no problem on the farley with the shadetree screws.

I actually have a set of the Shadetree screws as well. Good info, all. I appreciate it very much.
