Would substituting H4831SC for H4831 be beneficial to get a better case fill? Better case fill helps with consistency. Just a thought since my case is only filled 90% with H4831SC. H4831 will fill it more close to 100% for the 6.5 x 284

I think if you use a drop tube it wouldn't be that different? I've used both and never seen any difference in shooting.

I was just replying to the different case fill. I've never noticed a difference in group size. I run h4831sc in my 7 rem mag

H4831 has greater volume at a given weight. I think you really need H1000 to fill the case of a 6.5-284 with 139-142 grain bullets, especially if you seat them long like most do. H4831 will be closer than H4831SC though.

H4831 will fill a case more. They shoot the same H4831SC meters better.Tommy Mc

same burn rate, the case should be a bit more full with the H4831 vs the SC version.
