Subsonic .308 Winchester Varmint Loads?

Anyone have any good ones? Mainly for use on ground squirrels and the occasional coyote. Just need something that won't richochet, but disintegrate and is quiet enough that it won't bother the neighbors. ;D

I would say Trail Boss and 110 gr. V-Max. You would have to test for expansion.

No real normal rifle bullet will expand at subsonic speeds.
Best subsonic to use is 22, but if you are stuck on 308 subsonic, I would use Lehigh Bullets at 1050 fps. They are not cheap, but deadly at 1050 fps. These were shot out of my 300/221 at 1089 fps into a bucket of play sand. Have shot several deer with these at 15-50 yards. Every one were DRT. Never shot a coyote, but I assume the same would happen.

Matchkings will never expand at velocities so slow. Those aren't even hunting style bullets. Those are just good for targets. I shoot a Mid size Texas deer with one a few years ago at 1050 fps and it was a 308 hole on, and a 308 hole out. I missed all bone and it failed to tumble.

If it weren't for the richohet part, I'd say to get a PCP air rifle. I have a 25 cal Marauder. Have to be a brain shot for a coyote. They are making a 35 cal that'd do the trick, though.

I shoot black birds in the back yard. Throw bird seed to attract them, set up the varmint table just inside the door, when they arrive crack it a hair and take one. The flock often doesn't even fly away.

I don't yet know of a heavy weigh bullet in 30 call made to disintegrate at subsonic velocity's. I have tried the leigh's tried some lead cast bullets and any target bullet I had over 175grn and they all ricochet. Subsonic doesn't seem to prevent that. I just like the challenge of subsonic and how quiet it is with a can.
