BEST FACTORY .223 VARMINT AMMO?

Ohhhh ok sorry I knew cali had lead laws.... I had to ask because some of the stuff states come up with is just insane.... I read an article about the guy who invented the bump stock and in it a news reporter said the bump stock turns an assault rifle into a machine gun making it shoot faster and more accurately.... You can tell they have probably never shot a gun in their life.... But people believe what they read... I have never seen the words machine gun and accuracy put together in 55 years...
Lawmakers and guys like the reporter do show they know nothing about shooting a full auto or machine gun as they call it. If they ever pulled the trigger on one and tried to hold more accuratly on a target they would learn and see very fast that it is a false statement. But they never will, just go with the false flow of info and back the ignorant bill or law being presented. Anti'gun folks are the most ignorant of the truth, but keep spreading false statements.

That is very true, and as you have noted - it is mostly due to ignorance on the subject and the biased media. I try to engage as many people as I can that show any interest in learning to shoot or reload. I take them to the range, give them list of reloading gear to buy and show them how to do it. I have found that in time, they also did so for other people. The simple fact is most people born these days have no exposure to firearms or shooting unless a friend or acquaintance gets them into it. I'm amazed at how many women find they enjoy shooting once they have done so, eliminating the intimidation factor of something new. They want to be able to defend themselves, especially in a world where they don't all want to have to rely on someone else to so for them. Figure 200 years ago, nearly everyone in California had a firearm. Now it is 20%. That trend is what we are fighting - and it is not just here. For those who don't have firearms, why should they care about whether we have them? The only way out of this is being able to reverse how many people are positively exposed to them. A rough road.

Thanks for all the replies, folks. I'm going to add that Fiocchi and some of the others noted to his list. I think I might even try the Fiocchi as, based on price, might make sense to buy some in lieu of reloading for a rifle or two.

The Fiocchi field line features 40,50,55g Vmax The 40 has been exceptional in our Savage 9 twist
the 50 has worked for me to get a Lot of PD's Box says 3300 on the 50 and it is really 3200 same with the 40 about 100 less but man that 40 gets the job done for factory stuff I have shot some of the Superformance 53 and while fast it was just average on accuracy nothing special
I will look I may have a case or two if you can't find any
Fiocchi is sleeper ammunition, shoots very well as good or better than most other,I use it in the 204 and it performs flawlessly.

In my rifle, These are the “stuff” if you can find them and depending on what “varmint” you are referring to. LolView attachment 1529760
I shot a lot of this a few years ago, at that time it was sold at Walmart for around $15 for the 40 round value pack. It was cheap enough that the left over brass was pratically free. The 45 gr hollow points were

I only tried one box of the Fiocchi 40 gr but it was a very good. The Fiocchi was hard to find but the Winchester was everywhere so I kept using it until I had repleneshed my Winchester brass supply.

Another vote for Fiocchi.
I put a AR varminter together with a 1-12 twist Rock creek barrel and it shoots the fiocchi 50s so well that I never bothered working up a load for the gun, I’d have some serious load work to duplicate them.
I paid $19 per 50 box at a cabalas store in Idaho a few years ago and got a bunch of them. I also got some Federal AR varmint at the same time and it shot just as tight and were about the same price at $7-8 per 20 box, they were 50s with a grey colored tip and I’m not sure if they still make them. Some factory shells have came a long way in the last few years.
I would hate to repurchase them at todays prices.

I used the fiocchi 50gr vmax in a 1/9 ar15 before I reloaded. I still never found a reload that shot better than the fiocchi in that gun. I have also used ADI with blitzkings. I used to buy this ammo at Cabelas sold as Australian Outback. $0.70/rd loaded with a premium bullet in good brass I think it is a great deal.

Here in California, anything that sounds menacing or looks menacing is deemed "evil". Seems the average citizen here knows nothing about what is real, versus what is hype from the anti-gun segment. It makes it just too easy to get something banned. If anything can stand out as a potential target to get banned - it will happen. While we only have a 20% gun owner population, that really is a large amount of shooters, even relative to states with high gun ownership. It makes it pretty tough on us shooters, for sure. I can only guess that if it can't be sold here, it was because it had the word "enemy" in the name. Ha!
Then how the heck has Pelosi survived? I cannot think of anyting scarier than seeing that thing in the morning....

This is the BEST factory 223 ammo l have ever used. Fast @3600fps and accurate too. l used this ammo when l was flying out on my 2day mini shoots on Prairie Dogs. Limited to one rifle and 5kg/11pounds of FACTORY ammo. This WW white box allowed me to carry app 400rds. l killed my first coyote with WW white box. l still buy when l see it. Made in USA, its usually around $1 per round

I agree with the Fiocchi vmax. Thats all I shot before I started reloading a couple years ago. Its always shot about moa. Worst it has ever done is 1.5 with 40 gr in 1:8 AR15. Thousands of rounds and many guns. I can tell you that it only has so much potential. I have reloaded a lot of the brass in 223 and 204. When I switched to starline brass it immediately cut my ES in half and shrank the groups. With that in mind though, the price is right.

Hornaday, sierra, and berger ammo are likely better but a lot more money, especially on colony varmints. Berger is lapua brass and the brass could be sold and offset the cost. IMHO spending more is worth it for something low volume like predators. Ground squirrels and prairie dogs, no way.

Another to consider is black hills. They load 50 rd boxes of vmax. I suspect its better than Fiocchi. I jad good results with their 62gr tsx.

I'm surprised that people with Amalgam fillings in their teeth haven't been attacked. Amalgam is a mixture of LEAD and silver so every time a person spits from his mouth with those fillings is contaminating something,
How about lead wheel weights~? How about anything that has solder used to connect two pieces~? Crazyfornia is not place to be~!
