What's eveyones favorite actions for under 1k ? Cheaper would be better but I don't wanna to be too much of a poor Mainly looking so something that would be good for going the pre fit barrel route since I don't have the tools to cut chambers and all of that. Mainly just for hunting,nicer knock around guns and plinking maybe playing with some less then common calibers ( stuff like .17 fire ball and the like).

If your going do it yourself route probably a savage would fit you need, plenty of pre fits for savage barrels and you can also change bolt head to fit caliber of your chose

Mack or Origin. ARC just came out with the CDG, but it’s just now slowly trickling out. Even first day orders from Feb haven’t all been fulfilled yet. And only a couple of prefit offerings so far.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe some kauger actions accept prefits? And the @urbanrifleman cuts barrels for a plethora of different actions. There are threads on here with his barrels. My next prefit will be from him.

Also check out origin, perhaps a used defiance tenacity, rem donor, alot of people are making prefits for tikkas as well. Northland shooters supply sells savage actions. Mack brothers is probably tbhe best bang for the buck.

Edit: Never used them but crown ridge barrels will do a prefit for almost any action along with a ton of other people.

I have made several nut prefits for the Kaugers. People like them. I shoot a Kauger. I love mine.

Please everyone contact Adam at Kauger and tell them that you would love it if they would make a Rem 700 style bolt face that is Rem 700 pre-fit compatible.

If you can swing another $400 for an Impact 737r it’s for a lifetime & I think there are more shouldered prefits for it than any other action. Best wishes!

On paper the solus looks great. However, I'm not sure I want an expensive custom action from a manufacturer of mass produced AR components. I'm very eager to see what the reviews of these are from the general public (not those who were given a demo version to try). I would like to see some actual buyers.

Anyway, the solus intrigues me, but it would be hard for me to be an early adopter. I should mention. In my situation, I'm going to be able to only buy one maybe two custom actions in my lifetime. There are just too many other financial priorities.

I have one. I have talked to them. Don't need service but do want a mag bolt head. Sounds like they are cutting them but not released. Easiest way to talk to them is via chat.

Is the bolt handle swept back? I seem to remember they are not, but the picture at MGW seems to show it swept back a bit.
