Sub $1000 optic options

Looking for a scope for my Sako Finnlight in 6.5x284 hunting rifle. My budget is $1000 and I would like:

-adjustable turrets (with custom, interchangeable caps if possible)
-illuminated reticle
-4-16 or 4-18 magnification

Which options should I consider? Thanks!
lots of good scopes to look at but illuminated reticle I don't think you need. stay away from leupolds as there new scopes are junk and glass no good in low light!

Pure hogwash.
you might think this is pure hogwash but our club has 86 members and not 1 of them will shoot a new leupold as all the scopes they have tried wouldn't track worth a shit! they had no luck sending them back to try to get fixed! there are to many good scopes out there to mess with a leupold! also I have used there dual dovetail scope mounts for years but last year put on a .338 laupa and in less then 70 rounds the dovetail was beat out. found out they are now made in china.

With all do respect Sako makes a great rifle I would try to put a great scope on it. At least one of the lower end Night Force SHV. JMO

Your opinion is fine. Your opinion doesn't make Leupold scopes junk. They are top shelf scopes as are Nightforce, Sightron, Vortex etc. You just had bad experiences. Many have had the same with Nightforce but never heard anyone say there junk. It's not a statement I'd ever make about Leupold optics.

Cabela's has the Leupold VX-6 3-18x44 with illuminated reticle and CDS caps on sale for $850. It looks like a great deal and the reviews look great as well.
Leupold 6 is good optics. Haven't owned one so would like to hear your personal review. Mostly I'm a Mark 4 guy. Love the Mark 4s. Just give me a reason to put a VX 6 on a new build.

Athlon Ares fits that bill, I'm an authorized distributor if you are interested in pricing feel free to PM me.

Thanks

Haven't seen anyone mention the burris XTR ii. 4-20x a bit more but if you can find a used one not bad. Also if you know someone active duty.... I have the 3-15 and it IMO is hands down better than the Viper PST. Better turrets better class 34mm tube and more magnification

Own a few of the Weaver Super Slams. A couple are Weaver SS 5-20x50 models. Very nice optics in them and zero problems with their pull-up turret adjustments. Like I wrote very nice optics in them, not quality of a much higher priced Nightforce or Schitt Bender, but darn nice.My 5-20x50 Weavers are not a scope I'd recommend for what you'd call a light carry rifle (kinda heavy weight) and they are on the compact side on their lenght......meaning for say a long action Savage rifle, with its wide spacing of factory drilled scope mount screws, you'd probably need what may be called extension rings to mount them.
