Loaded up some .204 cartridges and took them out this afternoon. Some of the cases were snug in chamber and I stuck the last one that I chambered. I can close the bolt on the cartridge but the extractor slips past the rim so it won't extract the cartridge. The round is stuck good. The load is safe for the rifle, no problem there. I am sure now that this box of cases were fired out of another rifle I have in .204 as I have miked the empty cases shot out of either rifle and these measure the same as the cases shot out of the other gun.
Now with that long explanation, is it safe when a case is that tight in a chamber [even with a safe load] to fire it??
