Stuck case, wrong tap.

The die is too long but I think this would work with a shorter die
I’m skeptical on this idea. The problem is when you push on the case it will just tend to increase the sideways force between the case body and the die.

Stick it in the FREEZER!! It'll shrink (die and brass) and make things easier to work with. Better trying that than nothing.
And if that doesn't work, wipe the egg off your face and send it to the die maker. They KNOW how to get the case out WITHOUT damaging the die. ;)
Yes!!! Try freeze spray in the brass

I watched a gunsmith just kinda wear one out with taps, thin enough that it gave way to bending up enough to p pull out.

The other day I was converting a handful of PMC .223 Rem brass into .300 BLK. I found out that a #32 shell holder does a great job pushing a .300 BLK into the sizing die but a really crappy job of pulling it back out. I got out my stuck case remover kit which is just a 5/16"-18 tap, a17/64 drill bit and a variety of washers. I drilled the primer pocket out and started in with the tap. The case started turning in the die when I got the tap about 1/2 way through. I took the die out of the vice and clamped the tap in the jaws. I started twisting the die by hand while pulling up and the case popped right out. Crisis averted.

Nicely done.
I’ve done this before too with the wrong shell holder. I was lucky enough to be able to take the proper shell holder and push it on backwards with the ram in the exact spot that the shell holder slid on the case and the ram and it came out.

I did the opposite of the freezer trick once. I heated the die gently with a propane torch and being a Lee die I was able to tap the expander mandrel and pop the brass out. Prior to the heat the brass would not budge. I was concerned about die damage from the heat, but brass sized in it subsequently appears dimensionally correct as best as I can measure it and it chambers/extracts just fine.
