Striker 22-250 load question

Hi, my buddy got a 22-250 Savage Striker and we are getting ready to work up loads. Would you go with a faster powder and light bullets due to the short barrel?
In our long guns in 22-250 we use 'about' 36gr Varget and 50 vmax with great results.
I am thinking Varget may have more muzzle blast in that short barrel.

AA2015 is the powder that the Sierra manual suggest for 15" pistol barrels with 50 to 55 gr bullets. It gives about the highest velocity with best accuracy. With the shorter barrels it really does not matter a whole lot about which powder in the burn rate suitable for 22-250 that you use you are going to get muzzle blast. I would give your Varget load or one slightly tweaked a try over a chrno to see what velocity and accuracy you get. I have a wildcat 6mm-225 Win 14" barrel for a Contender and Varget seems to be THE powder for it and it has about the same powder capacity.
