stress relieving?

I am going to be turning down a barrel blank 1.250"x28" for a AR15 that will be done By my friend in a CNC and all other work will be done in my Lathe should i have the barrel stress relievied after all profiling and chambering is done? If so who does this? Thanks Mike

It will be interesting to set it up on centers and turn it with indicatorson both ends and the middle. I would try this after putting it in the freezer for an hour, room temperature and put it in hot water,120 degrees). Make index reference marks on the barrel with a magic marker. Write down the numbers and let us know what you find out.
