StrelokPro

In the app for setting up it asks bullet length? Does it want the length of a unloaded bullet? Or is it asking for the length of a loaded round? Sorry for the dumb question.

Bare bullet length. You can get most bullet info by using the built-in bullet menu at the bottom left corner of that screen and automatically populate the info.

Since you are new to Strelok I thought I would offer you this tidbit.

G7 more accurate than G1? I'm not a ballistician but...

"because the G1 standard differs more dramatically in shape from the typical projectiles we shoot in LR than does the G7 standard, the G1 BC is much more velocity-sensitive. That is why you will often see manufacturers reporting "velocity-banded" G1 BCs. The G7 BC is relatively insensitive to velocity, which can make it a little easier to use without having to incorporate velocity bands into the mix. Doesn't mean the G1 BC won't work...it will. However, it might require a little bit more from you as the shooter to get the best predictions (i.e. knowing your velocity at some distance and selecting the most appropriate banded G1 BC for that specific velocity range). It's not really all that big of a deal. Either coefficient type can be used to make good predictions."

What is the difference between Shooters MOA (SMOA) and MOA? My buddy was at the range the other day and he showed that to me on his Strelok Pro. I couldn't figure out how to get it on mine?

Someone oughta write a free downloadable book on how to use that app. ;)

Shooter's MOA is 1 inch per hundred yards, versus MOA which is 1/60th of a degree and actually 1.047" at 100 yards.
There is a small fractional difference between them, but when the value gets large the error in SMOA accumulates.

ETA: it is probably best to work in the same units as your turrets/reticle. You would be surprised at how some are calibrated in inches at 100 yards, while others are true MOA. YMMV

Remember the movie "Quigley Down Under? The character Quiqley used a vernier tang sight with increment marks of .05". Notwithstanding sight radius, that translates to 5" at 100 yards; subdivision on the "slide" gave precision to 1" and guesstimation between marks offered 1/2" SMOA. It's what technology offered at the time. I have vintage Lyman Junior and Super Targetspot scopes, with external mounts, in SMOA, precision to 1/4". Other than vintage and reproduction iron and optic sights, SMOA is not often encountered.

Contact Strelok directly. He is always quick to reply and is very helpful.

There are two versions of Strelok . There is the standard version , and then there is Strelok Pro . Be sure to verify which version you have loaded , as the "Pro" has many more features . Been using it for about five years now , and it is always a very solid quick reference .

I have both and use the Pro version more, although the ballistics are about the same. Physics is physics.
