Strelok dead?????

Was just told by a friend that tried to update his Strelok , that Strelok is no more????? Anybody heard anything???? rsbhunter

Google Play and I believe the iStore took Strelok off their platforms due to the sanctions on Russia.

The developer has stated that he is trying to figure out a way to get updates out to users.

Part of the sanctions we have against Russia..... It is true...they "may" make the app unavailable to download, if they haven't already....

You should turn off the 'automatic update' setting for the app, as well as 'delete if not used'. Both could result in it disappearing from your device.

It should continue to work in the current version that you have.

Thanks for the heads up...did that as well as a back up.....I have a micro USB card that I transfer data to.....so maybe it will be safe??? Thanks again..rsbhunter

I can understand no more money exchanging hands but not sure why there are sanctions against free updates.

Last week I download the basic version and the other versions were still available. Today all versions have been taken off the Play Store and no updates or reticles or ammo available. It took the Play Store about 5 weeks to finally take it off after it being listed by the state department.

Does anyone else find it ironic that "we" don't do anything with a known security risk of a mainstream app - TikTok, other than wring our hands. Yet "we" can ban an obscure and very limited use app like Strelok?

Developer provides stuff (I presume: ballistics software!) to the Russian military so was on the latest list of individual sanctions a month back or so.

Stores removing it are just following US law in this regard, not independently deciding to comply or not, there would be very big consequences for non-compliance.


As said, as long as not on some OS level auto-removal checkmark setting, app will keep working. It doesn't require a remote server, there's strong protection of things like apps from intrusion, etc. Getting a new phone? Not sure. I bet someone has managed to get an apk to allow sideloading (google those terms if you need to) for Android, but iOS users will be stuck.

So Strelok Pro removed by Apple from App Store.

Do not delete it and do not change the phone. . Just use the program until better times come...

Also turn off “Offload Unused Apps” in phone Settings
