The Department is designating the following entities pursuant to Section 1(a)(i) for operating or for having operated in the technology sector of the Russian Federation Economy, and other associated subsections:

• Igor Vladimirovich Borisov is the developer of Strelok and Strelok Pro, mobile phone applications used for ballistics calculations, which have reportedly been used by Russia’s forces in Ukraine.

So, what does this mean in real-world terms for users of this software, or people that buy it subsequent to this order?

If you read all of that, particularly the last paragraph, it doesn't sound good. I would think that anyone who is going to buy Strelok pro better think about it first.

That's my ultimate question. I wouldn't buy it right now, the order is not entirely clear what is allowed and what is prohibited. It wouldn't surprise me to see it disappear from the app store and/or become non-functional in the next few weeks.

I'm a Strelok Pro user, but I don't want to hit the range and find it's gone from my phone. I'm also not keen on having any app on my phone that could be used for data collection by another country.

So, for now, I'm going to back to Hornady 4DOF. It isn't nearly as slick for changing loads and guns. I may try the Applied Ballistics app.

On the Strelok Facebook group Igor has been pretty active trying to see if he can still maintain it.

Doubtful by the way this sounds.

He commented it would most likely be removed from the App Store and google soon.

It sounded like if you have it, it would work but no more updates.

The Federal government put me out of business in 1987 by paying my customers not to farm. Ruined my career and cost me my job by collapsing the economy in 2008. Now they are hyping up a war that's really been going on since 2014 and I have to listen to a former comedian berate US citizens for not supporting him enough when he has received somewhere around $80B. And is president of a country that has been Biden's milk/money cow since Obama's day. And is himself milking the $80B.

Only to open this thread and see they are going to destroy an app that I have finally learned to use, that works, and is propagated with several rifles, loads, and ballistic data!

JBM is a great solution I have always used it in preferance to other progams unless thay have a specific feature that I am interesed in. JBM is a very powerful program as such to use the most complicated eatures you need to be some what educated in the field.
