Strasser rs700 straight pull?

I talked to the US importer today, they are in Alabama. You can buy a rifle, a barreled action, or just the action. They currently only offer 3 calibers, 6.5 creedmoor, .308 and 6.5 prc. Remage nut for barrels or can shoulder one. Quick change bolt heads, only .308 and magnum available at this moment. They are going to check and see if they intend on making one in .223. Barreled actions are in stock. Not sure on rifles, actions are not. They estimated about 6 weeks after ordering. Aics mag ready. REM 700 stocks, triggers compatible. Picatinny rails are from them, I think the screw spacing is longer.

Seems to me that if accurate enough it would revolutionize LRBR......no more upset guns in the bags.

I guess I’ll update this, I did end up with one of these. I bought just the action and had a gunsmith chamber a 22 creedmoor and a 6.5x47L for it. The good, the machining is excellent, top notch, the bolt is as slick or slicker than a Tikka with less slop, it’s a pleasure to operate. Very fast. The bad, it requires some help on the feeding and ejecting. I think the feeding could be fixed no problem with someone who knows how to inlet a nice stock, I have mine in a krg bravo and it’s not very good. The ejection though is where I have the most heartburn. Sometimes it will eject them all, sometimes they get left in the action and sometimes they get turned around and left in the action. The port is small, maybe that’s the whole problem, I dunno. Maybe a good smith could fix both of those problems, if so, it would be my favorite of all guns. I’ll try to post some pictures tomorrow and maybe a video. Keep in mind, this started as a barreled action, not one of their complete rifles, I’m not sure how a complete rifle functions.

One more note, it isn’t a lightweight action. And loading for it requires a learning curve as far pressure. You won’t get heavy bolt lift because there is no bolt to lift. Pretty much have to go off primers unless you have some fancy equipment. I did lock the bolt twice in my experimenting with no ill effects.
