Strange looking bobcat

That is a mix of house cat and bobcat, It's a long story but i took one of those home in my shirt pocket the day i killed a mountain lion that had been circling me as i cut firewood. "Barnet's" cabin was about 500yds away and their cat had bred with a bobcat. At that time there was a thinning crew in that area and i can only guess she was moving the den because of them. There's a lot more to that story but it will have to wait for now. If you haven't shot it take it to a vet and let him/her look at it. If their any good they will be able to tell you.

I saw this one twice on a remote area on the AFB in Oklahoma City. I often see deer and turkey in the same area. Still not 100% sure what this cat is either.

Looks like a Lynx to me. Bobcats are a particular sub-species of Lynx. Probably just a genetic mutation that shows up once in awhile. As for a Bobcats not hanging around, I had one standing just outside of my fence not 10 feet from me at the back door. It stared me down and didn't move until I went back inside to retrieve a gun. 30 seconds later when I returned, it had vanished into the night.

A mix can have a tail, it is only 50% bobcat, i may still have pictures, (somewhere) of the one i took home that day. And yes bobcats are just as curios as any other cat which is probably the reason i ended up shooting the one on the deck of the ranch house i was taking care of at that time. See the post "A Different View" page four for how that came about.

Ocelots are more striped, Servals have spots. Ocelots are usually a bit bigger.

Thats just a skinny summertime momma bobcat with a normal tail.

It just looks longer caus she's in poor shape from feeding babies.

Might be longer than average, but not uncommon.

yep, I sent the pic to game and fish and they said almost the same thing. Shes not very afraid of me thats for sure. She’ll trot off and after I water the bushes/trees shes right behind me getting a drink

Bob cats are afraid but curious. I had one climb up to the window of my box blind once and look in. Scared me to death. When I yelled at him he slowly backed down and then took off.

So I was in Colorado this week. Got to the lake pretty early to launch my boat for some trout fishing off the sandy beach, since there is no concrete boat ramp. This is the mighty Rio Grande Reservoir not very far from Creede, Co. As I am prepping the little outboard engine on the boat, I look down and see two sets of tracks by the waters edge. One set very large and a smaller similar set.
Big track measures 4-1/2” diameter next to my size 11 EE shoe. Holy crap is that cat track? Where is my pistol...
