Stockys Ideal Benchrest Stock (IBS)

Hello all in Shooter Land.

Putting together my nest F Build.
- Bighorn TL3 Action
- Hart 31" Straight Bull Barrel 1.250
- EC Tuner
- Stock ???????????

I am an absolute fan of the F-Class stock that is on the Savage. I have 3 of them.
Flat 3" Forearm against the Flat and Parallel Toe.
Since its such a secret who makes those stocks for Savage, even when I called them all they told we was USA Wood makes them; but USA wood doesn't seem to exist when you google it.
So I am forced to find the closest replica I can. At the last 1K match here in NY, a shooter was using the Stockys IBS stock.
It looked really nice but I didnt get the opportunity to lay down behind it.
Anyone here, have or use one? Your thoughts on it?
Should I get the wooden stock with no Bedding Block and just have MasterClass do their usual phenomenal pillar and bedding job or get the block and just skim bed the action?

Get the stock without the bedding block and have it bedded with Devcon. I own 4 of their Bobby Harts laminated stocks and love them. I had one with the bedding block for a customer and didn't like it. I sent it in for one with out. Revolution Stocks ( Keystone Sporting Arms ) https://www.keystonesportingarmsllc.com/about-us/ They made the laminated stocks on Remingtons.

It is a Revolution stock. I have lots of them in stock. I also have the Bat trigger guard and Bat action screws, as well as the recoil lug I chose to fit. I am also way cheaper on my prices than Stocky's, and they don't keep that stock in inventory.

If you find my thread in the commercial classifieds you can see the pictures of my customer that built his .284, 1.25" 32" barrel rifle on my stock. There is absolutely no need to bed the aluminum block.

Got any in stock like that for us Savage shooters? I'm looking for one...

I have lots of stocks for Savage just not this one. The only way you can get a Savage for this stock would be to buy one and have your gunsmith Inlet it for you. They simply don't make the 3-inch benchrest stock Savage. That's why I promote the Remington 700 build instead of a Savage because there are way more parts available for Remington. You can build a Remington 700 from my store and I think that it would be more than competitive, especially at the club level. I don't think there's any advantage trying to do builds from Savages I've done them in the past there isn't a single good trigger made for a Savage suitable for benchrest in my opinion, so you're better off to just build you a 700. That just my opinion that's why I set my store up the way I did

Wow, thats a finger in the eye to us Savage owners. I have owned and build many Savage rifles and I love em. Simple to build and swapping parts is an easy adventure. I owned 1 Remington in my live and while it did shoot ok I was not impressed with the fact that it's not easy to swap barrels or change bolt face size. The barrel thing has been solved with the Remage (Savage copy). Thanks for the offer but I'll pass then

??? Finger in the eye? I was simply trying to make it clear that NO ONE makes a factory made 3" benchrest stock for a Savage, and Revolution makes a 700 stock, and that is why I decided to build my store around the Remington 700. There is SSS, but they do not stock them, and I have no idea the lead times.

I have had several Savage rifles, they all shot very well... but they are not as good of a build platform.

Well have Two Revolution Stocks On F/Open Rifles .
Rem. SA They have the Bedding Blocks in them.
I cut them out a little and Bedded then with Pro Bed 2000.
They track and work well enough to Win a Gold at a Reginal

I see them a lot on the Line.
Urbanrifleman will treat you right.
