You have to be careful with the Goo Gone. I tried it on something, and I don't remember what, but it damaged the surface. It may have been some kind of hard plastic. The reason I liked the WD-40 is that it doesn't hurt many things. As I was once told, don't get WD-40 in your eyes, ingest it, or use it on your mechanical watch. I have used the hair dryer often also, I just have to remember to not get things too hot.Warm it with a hair dryer. WD40, Goo Gone, etc. are good for the adhesive residue. -Al
