Stock for Sako M995

I am looking for a replacement stock for a Sako m995 chambered in .340 wby. I called McMillan and they are no longer making that stock. The rep said they can't get trigger guards so they had to dicontinue making it. Any thoughts as to where I can get a replacement stock? I am not interested in a factory stock. Thanks

Any gunsmith worth their salt should be able to whip up a custom bottom metal for you and you could maybe run AIAW magazines. But; If you want ready-made parts and you're willing to go all the way financially, call a Sako/Beretta dealer and try to get a TRG-42 chassis and stock, along with the trigger group and magazines. That's what I did, well, except my stock parts are actually from a TRG-41 but apart from some external dimensions (pistol grip angle, cheek piece width etc.) they are identical.

Can't make any promises as for the parts availability though, here in Finland these things float around second-hand every now and then so I honestly don't know Sako's policy on TRG part sales.

M995 trigger on the left, TRG-42 on the right.

I just a new purchased and installed a KRG Whiskey-3 chassis kit for my .338LM Sako M995 TRG-S.
Yes, expensive, but, I think they are last place around?
I like it a lot.

My .338LM Sako M995 TRG-S is the light weight hunter model.
A super light skinny stock.
VERY harsh to shoot!
I wanted a better stock with more weight.

Now, I am wanting to rebarrel it, as it has the super skinny light weight hunter barrel on it.

Anyone know any 'smiths up to the rebarrel task?

I really would like to get a 6.5CM barrel for it, but, that would require a different sized bolt?
And I would not know what else would be needed to be changed, or if at all possible...

I feel your pain. I had one of those rifles several years ago, when Answer Systems was about the only place to get muzzle brake for it. Super nice action, but that stock was junk. If yours hasn't cracked yet, it will.

Now have a line on a 1:9.3 twist heavy barrel, and new brake, AND a 'smith to make it all work.
This plus the new chassis will make a system that is much more interesting and bearable.
This is going to rock!
Something I've been wanting for a looong time now...

When i did my M995 I think Sunny Hill made bottom metal for them. And Maybe Richard Near did also. i was shown one done by my friend that took the very tough plastic/nylon trigger guard out of the original stock and marine texed it in to a McMillian stock. I did the same thing after i saw it, it was a bunch of work but it shoots good. I used a Richard Near picatinny rail that went over top of the Sako dovetails. richard does exceptional work and back then when you called he answered the phone.
