stock bedding how to

I am looking for a tutorial on stock bedding. One of my buddies wants to do it himself, but he's not grasping it from my explanations. I would like to show him a pic by pic tutorial so I don't end up having to pry his action from the stock. Thanks.

There are several real good "tutorials" out there on the web. Suggest you google "Action bedding" or "Rem 700 Action Bedding". Try searching under the "Images" or "Video" search functions. I know they are out there as over the yrs I have sought them out too. If I was on a different computer I may be able to even find the links and send to ya. Let me know if ya dont find em and I'll go digging for ya.

What Nodak said is right.
I first did my old 1959 Savage 110 30-06, both piller bedded and skim bedded. Since, I have built a Savage Precision Target Action based BR rifle and did the piller and glass bedding. Just follow the article directions and you will do O.K.

What I do is read a bunch of articles and digest the material and figure out the basics. I assume each writer has their own predjudices. Then I distell the information and go for it.

I definately would do the piller bedding first as I believe that is more important than the glass bedding.
