Stock bedding and etc.

Today I was putting in one of the weight tube systems I make up and grabbed these. One of the epoxies I use is pretty dependent on the mixing time and temp. This hand held infared unit makes it pretty handy to check the temp.

Anything special about that glue for the application?
Well, it has a bit of compliance when cured. I've redone a couple of weight tubes (not mine) where the epoxy had fractured and the tube was loose because the front of the tube was never bedded to a solid recoil seat. A lot of it depends what's inside the butt.....rigid foam, expanding type foam, just air, etc.

On actions where the back wall of the tang is used as the recoil lug, there's a lot of energy transferred through the pistol grip area....'way more than most would realize.

Good shootin' :) -Al

Not so much if they are glued in. ;-)
