Still Waiting on RCBS Summit Press

After a lot of thinking and help from many of you, I decided to pull the trigger on the RCBS Summit press. I ordered it from Midway because it was $30 cheaper than anywhere else. However, they are still on back order. I will go a long ways to save $30, but I am getting impatient (not that the weather would allow me to shoot anyways right now). I did call RCBS and they said that they are doing their best to meet demand, but they are not sure when they will ship to Midway...

I take it from this that I should just stay with my old rockchucker ???

Andy,
RELAX! RCBS will make you a very nice press and you'll get it soon. They do not mass produce that press, certainly not like a Rockchucker that has been their bread and butter press for years. Given what I know about your set-up, that Summit Press will fit nicely and work for you the way you want it too. Don't get me wrong, I like my Rockchucker alot and use it all the time along with my Redding Big Boss. But neither of mine would fit for what you've already built and the space you have. I know the wait is a Bi@#$, but good things take time sometimes.

My supplier has one in stock I can call tomorrow and get my dealer cost on this if you want one now. Just let me know.

I saw 4 on the shelf at the local Sportsmans Warehouse a couple weeks ago. They are out there I guess.

I like my Summit quite a little bit.

I have one and all I use it for is knocking out primers! When RCBS quite making the A-4 press, they make a bad move as far as I concerned. The Summit I bought is the Red, White, and Blue. I felt Patriotic! Save your money.

I considered a RCBS Summit at one time as well. But I read so many mixed reviews. Much like this thread we are on now. Most of the bad reviews seemed to come from experienced shooters and handloaders where as the better reviews came from folks who had never experienced anything beyond a RockChucker or the Summit was their first press. Not saying that's the case here. Maybe there's just a bunch of lemons out there, I dont know.

My recommendation for a compact do-all press...Cancel your order, save up a little more, spring for a Forster Co-ax and get the short handle for it.

Am I missing something? The Summit is available at Midway. Any how, I would get the Forster Coax. I did and love it!

The RCBS Summit presses arrived at Midway yesterday. I received an email this morning saying that mine is on the way. I will post a new guy's first impression of the press when it arrives.

Thank you!

Andy
