Stiffening tikka T3 action

Hello I am new in this forum but I have bin reading it for a while and I am amazed by the wealth of knowledge a site like this can give you. I have a question that I have never seen asked before. I have heard of sleeved remington 700 actions to stiffen them up but what can you do to stiffen up an action like the Tikka T3 witch is not round like the Remington action?

The action is trued and I have cut the front of the action and installed a custom Remington like recoil lug and it has a shilen select barrel with custom contour similar to Krieger 18 light varmint.
My father is a hobby guitar smith and has finally put his skills to good use and made me a beautiful Icelandic birch stock. I am thinking about making it a single shot rifle and I was wandering it that was anything I could do to stiffen the action maybe by closing the magazine cut in the action or something like that?

Do you have any ideas and what would you do?

And sorry if the grammar is not spot on I am from Iceland :)

heheh it is an awesome site though to witness the power of the nature, it is amazing that one volcano on a a small island can have so much affect on all of Europe.

83 seen your post the tika is a fine action with a good flat foot print . All you need do is make sure that what is underneath it is good bedding . by that i mean block bed the stock in the lug area and pillarbed the back . you may want to go down the barrel channel an inch or so with glassbed.

I had a Tikka that I used for three position (including rapid fire stages) as well as long range prone shooting. It was a good solid .5 moa (or better) performer from positions as long as I did my job correctly. It has good angular surfaces top and bottom and a closed top. I think it is stiff enough as is. On my Winchester prone rifle I bedded inside the mag well a bit and glued a single shot loading follower on top. Was not necessary but I, like you, felt that it must be stiffer that way.

Thanks for the reply... If you think the action is stiff enough then I will just cut for the magazine and use it as a repeater :)

But what about the trigger, what do you think, should I use a less stiff spring an lighten the trigger that way or go for an aftermarket trigger?

Sounds like you are confident enough to try the spring, may as well polish (stone) the sear engagement surfaces first and see if that gets you down below 2 Ib.. (.85 kg?). Just be sure it is safe...I installed the CG trigger and was extremely happy with it but it is pricey.
