I have a Savage 110 Single Shot action that I have taken the ejector spring out of. I have a 6BR barrel on it. I am shooting 95 Gr Nosler BT over 30 gr Varget/CCI 400 primer. (very accurate) Cases are trimmed to correct length and I am jumping the bullets. The bolt opens easily but needs a bump to move backwards. I have reduced the load to 29 grains and it does the same thing. The rounds load easily, no cramming when I close the bolt. Fired cases do not show high pressure, slight cratering but no blown primers. I have some with a lighter bullet and a max book load of Varget and they work fine. Any ideas?

CCI 400 , these flow to easy.
Change primer. The CCI 400 is only good to 40,000 PSI. imo.

Different bullet, different pressure. Try 28.5 grs. Still there. Not the load, my guess.
Both my Savages Axis rifles in 223 & 6.5 CM do it. Normal for me.
Hitting the extractor cam does that. "Extractor cam" may not be the correct term.

Yes. I have used a 308 small base die to get rid of clickers. Works just fine.

To size the base, yes. I "think" a regular 308 based die could be used for a body die? I have never tried it as I haven't had the need.

That's what I ended up doing. You need to get the right size if you want to size the down the base. I'm pretty sure I got the 3.5 size.Get a harrels die.

If you are using a bushing die.... try a none bushing sizing die.
You might be over pressure too. I keep a box of factory lapua ammo around as a double check for speed and case extraction (bolt lift). When you can't reach factory speeds and have a stick bolt.... you need to look elsewhere.

You state the bolt opens easy after firing but need to bump it to the rear to free it up...what's the loaded case neck diameter vs the neck diameter of the chamber?

After firing, case neck expansion might cause case sticking in a tight/overly tight neck. May not contract back enough after heat and pressure.

A 45acp die does a great job with sizing down the .200 line also
