WANTED Steyr SL Varmint .222 Remmy

Howdy folks,

Looking to add this particular make and model rifle to my collection. I've had success shooting SSG 69s in various calibers. But recently, while helping a family care for their estate's firearms I came across some old reloads in triple deuce and was instantly intrigued with it. One of my favorite online shooting channels is THLR, and I saw him with a custom Gunwerks build of his for arctic birds in .221 Remington Fireball, a close relative of the triple deuce. That's it! I must have a rifle in this caliber (after the wife and kiddies are all taken care of for Christmas of course!) and since I collect Steyr I'm interested in those exclusively. This model has the ventilated walnut stock and bull barrel.
I just made a deal with a very fair and trustworthy man on here for some triple deuce brass. If anyone sees one of these rifles for sale or trade please let me know. There's one on GB but I'm looking around...thank you and Merry Christmas!

I think that rifle on gunbroker sold, it was listed for months. I love old vintage 222s, thought about buying it a couple of times but never did. Good luck in your search, hard rifle to find and a neat one.

Old style SLs are nice. I'm looking for the one with the heavier barrel and ventilated stock. Haven't seen one on Guns Int'l yet...but they're out there. There was one on GB recently but it was a bit thrashed and the seller was asking a small fortune for it. There are quite a few in Europe at the moment but importing is $$$. A shooter on here has beautiful example in .223

Had one years ago in 223. Should have never sold it. Seems you don't see them much anymore.
