I use the 183 smk in 2 new SAUM barrels and another older practice barrel (8.5" twist). With the newer Bartlein 5R barrels I am running 60.5 and 60.7 gn of H4831sc but my other brand conventional groove barrel I am at about 60.25gns with bare bullets and 60.75 with moly bullets and seems like higher pressure. These are all warmish loads in a stiff Barnard single shot action, so I would certainly recommend you work up from 59.0gns and build up to 60.0+gns over a few shots, checking for pressure signs.Does anyone have the starting load for 7 SAUM & 183 smk w/ 4831? Hodgdon data only goes to 175gr class and I dont have access to the Sierra book.
thanks
