Starting a New project

Looks like I will be startting a new project soon! that is, sending out work to fit together another rifle! I am looking for a Rifle Smith capable of taking a Kreiger Barrel and cutting the the chamber in one step to the exact (not sammi) length that I need! What I am looking to do is to send out two or three dummy rounds with the bullet seated to a specific length so when loaded, will just touch the lands! I can adjust the bullet length myself, when reloading, to be just off the lands.. Too many Rifle smiths do not want to be bothered with this and cut to what ever SAMM! Specs they have regardless if the bullet will ever get close to the lands even if the bullet is seated out as far as the magazine allows...Any suggestions out there?

Give Mike Hartman (EGA Gunworks) at call at 3197502907. He can build what your looking for. Turn around time is typically less than one week from time he receives barrel and action to return. The only hold up is if he doesn't have reamer you want. In case he orders one. He also has all necessary throaters to set freebore. Scott

Pac-nor will do a chamber to a dummy round seated to touch the lands. Good folks there. On their barrels of course. Cases came out with zero runout from a 6mm Rem barrel they did for me.

Thanks hedspace! I think Pac nor may have been one of the shops I contacted.. The are about a year out in starting new orders

I think that my question is how to you know that is the length that the barrel will like? The chamber length isn't going to change , only the throat. It's pretty easy to lengthen a throat, and harder to shorten it.
