Start loads for 22-250 AI and imr 4007 W/90gr. JLK's

Greeting's All, I have just finished barreling a savage 110 w/ a 22-250AI 7twist barrell and will be shooting the jlk90gr projectiles at 700yds to blow up bombs at the BOOMERSHOOT (www.boomershoot.org if you want to check it out.) next month. I am shooting the 90gr jlk because I have around 3000 of them left over from the high power match shooting days. I have 4 pounds of imr 4007 that I don't have use for and I figure using up unneeded (and paid for long ago) bullets and a powder that doesn't fit in what I normally shoot would help conserve now expensive 75-80gr bullets and harder to find h4350, rl15 powders. what I need is a good safe start load. I can work up from there.
I know, I know, it's a barrel burner. I have taken steps to retard that some what. I threaded my barrel for 2.75" so as accuracy drops off, I just take it off, chuck it up, and cut off the amount to get rid of the roached throat. Then run the reamer in a little deeper. till next time. I figure this will last for the 3000 jlks and the 3000 90gr smk's that I have.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich

It's a great powder. I used it in my 22-250 and 243. I'm wanting to say I used about 38gr in my 22-250 but that was with 50gr bullets. When I get home I'll look around and see what I can find. A shame they dropped it from the line.

I haven't confirmed it, but 4007ssc may be back on the lineup. I see that it's listed on IMR's website again.

I found load data for 70 grain loads with 33gr being the start point so I am thinking I will start at about 30 and see where we end up. thanks for your help

Rich

On Hodgdon's website, they show 34.0 as a starting load with 70gr bullets, and a max of 37.8 with 4007SSC in a 220 swift (should be somewhat ballpark case capacity)...if that helps you any.

PS I sure hope they bring back 4007SSC as a production item. I have not found a better powder for my swift with 50gr bullets.

Are you saying that your thinking you can get 3000 rounds from a barrel before cutting it back ? Your very optimistic if your thinking that number from a 7 twist 22-250 AI. I would think maybe 700-800 or so before accuracy diminishes. Just my two cents. Only one way to find out for sure.

When I posted this last spring, they still showed it on their lineup of powders. Not now, though. It's a shame...4007 worked like a champ with several mid-sized cases. I was getting fantastic results with it in a 7mm-08. Would have probably fit like a glove with the 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.5x47 Lapua, also.

I got 4,100 fps with 55 gr. Sierra BlitzKings in my .220 Swift (28" BBL) - Norma cases, no pressure signs, good case life (haven't lost one yet).
