Yep, participation has dwindled, but I’ve been shooting continuously since 1981. Love the sport, and I’ve made friends all over the US and the world!I shot Small Bore Hunters Pistol Silhouette in the 80's in Western, PA. One of the most practical and fun shooting sports I ever participate in. When I moved to Eastern, PA there didn't seem to be any interest in this very, practical, challenging and fun sport. It was quite popular in the 80's in Western PA. You could shoot a match everyweek since matches rotated among several clubs.
Same hereI couldn’t be happier with Starline 10mm brass.
You are right about used brass and Freedom Arms revolvers. I get lots of firings from Starline in my FA357. I also use 357Mag brass to make a couple of wildcat calibers..One is basically a 256 Win Mag necked up to 7mm. Another is a 30 Reece. I use the DW360 to make what is basically a 300 Whisper Rimmed.Melvin, glad to see your still wearing out brass. I was told I need to shoot it to wear it out.
Good to see another 30-20 shooter! There is a lot of categories that it can be used for in IHMSA.
IHMSA crowd gets smaller every year. We have already lost three in Region 4 in the past 30 days.
I started in 84-85, never joined until later. Two of them I shot with for 40 years.
I honestly think IHMSA intimidates a lot of people. A person will never run across a better bunch of people. Like you I have met and made long time friendships near and abroad.
Have to add to the comment above on used 357 brass. 99.9% chance even if sized as much as you can, it would not chamber in an FA.
I retired 1000 357 Starline brass a few years ago. It had right at 10 firings on it and I did close to 10 more. Primer pockets were getting loose, but no leaks. Use it in “standard” 357 duty now.
