Staball Match

I just got in a jug of Staball match from American reloading to load up some rounds for the 223 and was wondering if anyone has done anything with 55 gn fmj and 55 gn Sierra bthp or 69 gn bthp..

I have gotten the load data from Hodgdon but was curious to what other's have tried..

Following...... I tried it briefly in a 6br 12tw and am anxiously wanting to try it in another rifle. Meters nicely and seems to burn cleanly as well. Seems to be similar to the old WW748. WD

I am using it in 243 58vmax load and 62 VG
41.1-43.1 with 58gr@3741 Fps
41.4-41.7 wiht 62 Var.Ged. HP@ 3640fps
.4 to .7 100 yard groups, shilean select match barrel 26" savage

Ran a little in a 308 with 155s. Bulkier than varget and n140. A little slower that I was expecting. The SDs were better than expected.

I use it with 77 gr SMKs in 5.56. Great velocity, great precision.

I’ve tilted at this particular windmill quite a bit, you will get no where near the velocity of h335 and I’ve found no appreciable increase in accuracy over h335 jmtcw
the only advantage would possibly be in the temp sensitivity department……

I’ve also had pretty good luck with it in 77 grain smk loads. I run with the data from hodgdon. I found 2 good loads for my rifle, a low ‘node’ towards the starting load and also at max.

I recently got my hands on some Varget, and I haven’t seen any significant improvement compared to wsbm.

It seems to mostly be like W748 with upgrades for temp stability if that helps. Haven’t done any loading for 55’s but I wouldn’t hesitate to.

25gr Staball match and CCI450 with 75eldm. Excellent SD and groups at 300yds but get carbon rings after 100 rounds. No copper issue. Have to use Thoroclean and Thoroflush. Don't have issue with Varget or SW Precision can shoot 300 rounds b4 need to clean barrel.
