St. Thomas Saturday Update

Dimwit Flathead

It's the Juggernaut, Bitch!
Due to the results of severe weather on Friday evening the Saturday Groundhog Match had to be canceled. A very LARGE thank-you to all the shooters who turned out for the match and then had to drive, in some cases, long distances back again without firing a shot. The staff and management appreciates your patience, and hopes that everybody will turn out for the May 11 match. Fearless Leader Jack Hawbaker assured me that there would be no problems for the rest of the season.

On the up-side of it all, look at the money you saved in registration fees!!! See you in May.

Was there any damage to St. Thomas range with all the damage surrounding it? I did see the driveway was closed due to trees being down.

Sorry you had a problem that caused the match to cancel. Addressing the topic of attendance most of the clubs had their schedules out well before St. Thomas. I reached out to a St. Thomas member and asked him to suggest they go to the
first or fourth weekend for their groundhog match since the second and third weekends already had numerous matches. He told me he did speak to someone but was told they were not interested in another date. It's a shame the various clubs can't get some common rules and use some common sense on schedules. The answer I have gotten other years from 2 other clubs was similar, Why should we change, let someone else. Sure doesn't help our sport. Lots of shooters log a lot of miles to support shoots but we can not be several places at once. Funny thing, the last several years I have personally heard officers of all three of these club cry about declining attendence. A few phone calls and some cooperation might help all of them.
