Since he commented 3 minutes prior to your post I’m guessing he’s still alive and well.I'm guessing since the OP hasn't let us know what happened in over 4 years he died trying, so maybe it's not so good an idea.

Hey Butch - With the weather we are having this week in TX, just place that brass on a tarp in the yard and squirt some dish soap on it. By week's end it will be clean and maybe the sun will reappear to dry it for you.
Otherwise, 45 minutes with steel pins, Dawn, and Lemishine. To answer the 2017 question, none of the loaded ammo that I have accidentally overlooked had any issues surviving the tumbling.
