SS-109 bullet (M 855) in a .22-250?

Got a Kimber barreled Swedish Mauser in .22-250. The twist is 1 in 12". Could it stabilize the green tipped 62 grain bullets pulled from SS-109 ammo?

Thanks for your answers. I think I'm gonna give it a try on a small scale before pulling 300 bullets ;) I had good results with the SS-109 at 300 yds in my brand new .223 Rem Stevens 200 with its 1 in 9" twist. Wondered if the extra speed of the .22 Varminter could make up for the slower twist. A dozen rounds will let me know next week end.

the m855 bullets are longer than a 69 smk so therefore require a fair amount of twist. i would think that a 9" would be the slowest i would go. but, a 12" might work at the closer targets

Sorry not to have followed up on this one. The results were definitely discouraging. At 100 yards, most of the bullets were keyholing all over the target. 1 out of 5 would travel towards the center and punch round holes, it could be a matter of center of gravity or the twist is a bit worse than borderline for that bullet's length. It might prove interesting to try it in a 1 in 10" twist.
