SR 223 load RL-15

If I remember correctly, a popular SR load for smk 77’s was 24.2 RL15 at mag length. Anyone remember that load. NOT varget not H4895 etc

I have been using 23.5 for years, has worked for me.

Prime a Lake City with a CCI BR or Rem 7.5, @ 4 under. Put 23.5-24.0 RE15 in the case. Seat a 77 SMK into 0.002” tension @ 2.255” COAL.

Shoot 5 of those, 5 @ 2.245”, and 5 @ 2.235”.

One of those is going to hammer unless you have a problem somewhere else.

You can find this recipe 100 times on a dozen different forums. With good reason.

I have precision AR loads that are different, but when I find a good deal on bullets I'll generally load them up with this recipe and stick them in an ammo can for the boogaloo a rainy day

Loaded 24 grains with 77 SMKs, why not 23.9 or 24.1? They all worked, 24 was easier to remember.
