Squirrels / what are you all using to control back yard pests

I use these two Mini Howitzers both in 25 cal

FX T12 400 will send a 33gr 25cal 1000 fps

FX T12 Whisper will send a 25gr 25 cal 1000fps

You can make a wooden 'box trap' and use a couple of squirrel tails and a spring-loaded door to make the 2-legged variety of 'squirrels' launch themselves.
Quite entertaining at deer camp, I must say.

Try one of the newer scoped air rifles with velocity upwards of 1100 FPS(read quiet). Hit them in the cervical vertebra and dead on the spot.

Hey Mark I have both of those FX rifles, and I also have 2 Air Force rifles one 25 cal Condor and a 45 cal Texan which shoots pellets from 140gr to 440gr. when you shoot the 440s it like you are launching cinder blocks LOL

Dean, those 25 cals and 45 cals are little too strong for tree rats in my "theater".. I would like to some day shoot a large bore pcp.. maybe a deer?... that would be fun..

I used to shoot hundreds of starlings at a time with my RWS springer in 22 and THOUGHT I was cool. Then I bought a 25 Marauder. It was like going from a Red Ryder to a 222. Now pigeons at 65 yards are as good as dead, and starlings are toast right out there. Only bad side is I did/do not have money for a tank, so I have to pump. Every 16 shots. That is a lot of pumping. So no more hundreds at at ime in a dark dairy barn. Besides, the 25 makes a big hole in a roof if you miss...

I have used it on groundhogs with effect too.

I have one of those 25 Marauders only it is called a BSA Lone Star but it is the same rifle, don't laugh but my Mom has it for her pest control issues. It shoots 25gr 25cal pellets around 800 which is a good number for her application. Go mom LOL
