Squirrels / what are you all using to control back yard pests

A 10 lb dachshund and a 75 lb black mouthed cur. They some times work as a pair when no blood has been spilled in a long time. When they are successful all the remaining squirrels go to the top of the pine trees and howl and scream for at least 45 minutes.

My Air Arms 410 shoots the jsb 18.1gr jumbo heavy really well. You might give them a try also.
I just bought these..15.89 gr.. Looking forward to seeing how they do..

Squirrel Catapult

If you've had a bad day, check out the youtube videos and watch them launch a squirrel.

How can you have more pleasure then give the pests to a tree hugging neighbor . lol Larry
Years ago, i did critter removal for a part time job. I had one place in particular that got all the squirrels, skunks, racoons, possums and especially snakes.....not so much a 'hugger', but the dude stiffed me on a $1500.00 bat removal job, so I figured he needed a few more nuisances around his place.

Pulled into a motel parking lot yesterday evening about 7:00.. saw where the fascia over the check in parking area was raw wood. I watched for minute and wood chips where being discharged thru the hole.. after a few minutes a squirrel came out and then rand across the roof, down the brick column, and all the way down the 2nd story walkway to a tree and disappeared. That is going to cause some problems unless they dispose of that rascal.

What about discharging the squirrel instead of the pellet? Like one of those you tube videos with the squirrel sitting on top of the baited clay pigeon thrower?

Do any of u guys know if raccoons will eat / feed on standing sunflower that has matured and sprayed with Roundup? ( Dove field?

well shooting them is effective and fun

but if you don't have the time to guard your fruit trees you might find this effective.

i have yet to meet a squirrel that can resist the challenge of a bird feeder. make.you a platform on a post about 2' square. cover the top with half.inch hardware cloth. mount a smaller bird feeder in the middle. run a strand of.electric fence wire half way between the feeder and the edge of the platform all the way around about 2" high. get a high powered fence charger and hook the ground lead to the hardware cloth and the hot to the fence wire. now open up the charger and make the clicker points permanently on. no clicking. fried squirrel will be waiting for you when you check it. keep the cats away. it will kill whatever gets on that wiring.
