Springfield Waypoint 2020

I've been looking at this rifle and a Christensen Arms that are both close to the same in price. The Waypoint is a 6 Creed and the Christennsen is 6.5 Creed. I have loading components for both. The Christensen is a Scout rifle with a 16" barrel and is very light weight at 5 pounds and a few ounces. The Waypoint is around 7 making both rifles very light weight. The short barrel has me a little concerned about velocity but I'm not an extreme long range shooter so I think that may not be an issue. My main issue is which is the best bang for my money?????

Don't know about their centerfires, but I had a Ranger from them that went back 3 times and they still couldn't fix it right. I know nothing about the Waypoint but if I had to pick between the two I would give them a try.

Friend bought a Waypoint in 6.5 PRC with a non-carbon barrel. It shoots very well. I looked it over and decided if I were to buy a "semi-custom" I would buy one. He liked his so much he bought another.

They both seem to be very nice rifles for factory offerings. Lots of quality parts on both and reviews are pretty good on both rifles. I just wished the stores had a few more caliber choices. I already have a 6 CM and a little burnt out on the 6.5. They have a PRC but components are scarce. Maybe I need to keep shopping.

My .02 would be to give the waypoint a try. I have messed with lots of Christensen rifles and they are about 50/50 on how they function/shoot. Some work great and shoot great and others takes lots of patience and components to get them so so. If it were me and I was looking for a factory rifle that just plain works and will shoot fantastic, I would buy a Tikka and take all that extra cash I would have spent and put it towards a nice optic.

Been reading a few not so good reviews about accuracy issues with the Waypoint. Now its got me wondering. Its hard to spend that much money for a problem child.

Well, I went a different direction. I bought a Seekins Havak PH2. I like the rifle better and the reviews were pretty positive. Hope it was a good decision on my part.

I spent a week looking and reading reviews on the Waypoint and the CA rifles. Like everything, there are good reviews and bad. Then in another shop I looked at the Sig Sauer Cross. All three are in the $2000 plus or minus range. The Cross was kinda neat but when I held it, it was cold like it had no soul so I pretty much nixed it right away. I live on a budget but have sold some rifles and saved here and there and was planning on buying a nice rifle so I was wanting to make sure I got a good quality rifle. I have several Sako's, a couple of very nice Tikka's and a few semi custom Remingtons but I wanted something along the full custom line. Then I saw the Seekens Havak PH2 for sale on another site. Its a used rifle but very low round count. After several hours of reading on the internet, there really wasn't anything bad about this rifle. I talked to the owner on the phone and we struck a deal we both felt was fair and I sent him a check. Now we wait until it gets here. I think its about as close to a full custom rifle even though its a factory built rifle. Its fairly light weight with a carbon fiber stock, has a medium weight barrel and a good trigger. I've never shot a Seekins or even seen on at the club and I've seen a lot of rifles being the rifle chairman at my club. I admit, I wanted something different and something not everyone has. I think this may be it or at least I hope so.
