Spotting scope with rangefinder reticle?

I'm looking for a good spotting scope for both DCM Service Rifle competition and varmint hunting at long, unknown ranges. Since good spotters are so expensive, I want to "buy once, cry once" and have one spotting scope cover both bases.

I like the Kowas and would love to find one with a tactical milling reticle (like on Leupold Mark 4 rifle scopes) but don't see anything out there.

Leupold makes a Mark 4 spotting scope with a tactical milling reticle but it isn't offered with an angled eyepiece (this is a deal-breaker for me for SR competition) and if I'm going to spend $2,500 I want Kowa glass anyway.

Can anyone recommend anything? Will Kowa install a milling reticle for me in one of their spotters, or, might Leupold install a milling reticle into a Kowa scope?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Well if money no object get a Ziess Spotter 60, I have a Vortex Razor with a 30x MRAD eyepiece, mine is straight, they have an angle eyepiece model, Vortex also has a 30x MOA eyepiece.

+1 on the Vortex Razor. I have an angled spotter with Long Eye Relief eye piece for shooting F-class. I can also use the 30x MRAD for shooting steel or unknown distance stuff.

Swarovski has come up with a lighted reticle that can be turned on/off - in MOA or MIL. It will be available late this year or first 1/4 next year.

The Spotter is called the STR and it is offered in a 80mm lens with 20-60x or 25-50x.

Pricey, but looks promising and may give Spotter 60 competition.

I just wanted to shout out a big THANK YOU! to the folks who recommended the Vortex Razor HD with the eyepiece with the rangefinding reticle/stadia.

I bought this rig and it works GREAT, in fact at ranges beyond about 300 for a crow or 450 for a deer, it WORKS where my Bushnell Elite 1600 ARC laser rangefinder DOESN'T.

Just for grins, I tested it by ranging a stop sign at around 450. Did the math using the formula
Size of Target in Yds x 1000 / Size in Target in Mils = Range in Yards
and I was within ONE YARD of what the laser rangefinder reported!

At longer ranges, you really need to read the stadia very carefully but it seems to work really well.

Many thanks, guys, I'm really pleased with this purchase.

Just remember, your enemy is one meter from his crotch to the top of his head. Take the number of mil-dots subtended and divide into 1 klick to get his range. (3 mildots = 330 meters) ;) ;D
