Spotting Scope- Straight or angled eyepiece?

I think that for digiscoping many birders recommend straight if you are attaching a camera. I use a straight scope because most of the time when I amglassing for deer I do it from atop a ridge or mountain and am prone so that I don't break the skyline. Looking down hill with a scope is easily done with a straight scope, but if you are hunting sheep or Aoudad and angled scope has the advantage.

I'm in the market for a spotting scope. I've seen the pros and cons. I like the idea of a straight eyepiece but wanted input before I buy. Use will be wildlife viewing mostly (hunting, travelling, hiking) with a tripod and occasionally off of or next to the shooting bench. Is there a great benefit to the angled eyepiece?

I just don't want buyer's remorse since I'm planning on buying a really good one. Only want to buy once. Help me decide.

You received good input here regarding shooting sports uses for a spotting scope...

Seeing how you say birdwatching will be the primary use.

Yes, it costs more. And even very high quality prisms will lose a tiny bit of light.

I run an old straight bushnell I've had for 20+ years. However, I am not a competition shooter, just an old varmint blaster...

Maybe I'm old fashioned and the only one here that feels this way but,,,
It's not a bad thing to at least post a thanks for the responses post when you post a question and people take time to help you out...

I have looked through both and the angled is much nicer to me.
