Spotting scope stand for prone shooting

Looking for a good spotting scope to use while shooting prone.

Dave, I switched from a traditional high power type stand to my 055 manfrotto a long time ago. More stable and more adjustable.
I have been thinking about a Manfrotto with the post that can rotate 90*, but that comes in multiple models, so curious what made you choose the 055 vs say the 190?

I want a tabletop type one that I use on the ground while shooting prone.

There was an Opticron stand for sale here a week or so ago. Two legged type that would work well prone or off the bench.

When shooting prone you want the scope positioned so that you don’t have to break position ortotally get off of the rifle to look in the spotting scope. When setup I can literally see through my spotting scope without taking my head off of the stock.

To do this the scope needs to be off the side of the stand and the little stand shown would fall right over with my 883 hanging off the side on my Ray vin scope head….

I think your concern is the base on posted picture are not wide based. But it seems like the legs will extend out for stability.

Take a look at Creedmoor Sports and Champions Choice in the scope stands section. The bullseye guys have some nice solutions, but they don't come cheap.

Very nice setup. I have the same stand and I never thought of using it for prone shooting. I suppose I need to set up both and see which works best. Nice setup though. Thanks for sharing. This is exactly the type of useful info I was hoping my post would illicit.
Dave.

That rifle looks familiar. Did you shoot in Lake City, MI this past weekend? Barefoot shooter if I recall correctly??

I’m certain I’ve shot with you in Midland as well…but I don’t know who you are…lol. I just recognize the shooting coat, orange gun and green ammo box with yellow notes inside.

Ray-vin scope stand and don't look back. They thought of everything. Folding is easy. Screw in poles can't cross thread. The second pole screws into the stand for storage. I like mine very much.

That was Nathan Abrams shooting that chassis. It used to be mine. I have moved to conventional prone stocks. I was FP10 day 1, FP 9 day 2
