Spotter spindle

If you want them for actually marking shots on target I would recommend not using them.
Instead get the molded plastic shot spotter from contour mold in elk river, Minnesota....
Much better and safer..... if for something else, disregard.
 
I honestly don’t know why ranges still use the old style spotters....
you have to push them all the way in the target, they make the bullet-hole larger, and if they get hit with a bullet could be dangerous.... I’ve been splintered by a wood spindle in the past.

Yep. Spray one side of a white one with black plastidip to make it reversible and the molded ones are pretty hard to beat
 
Let me check tomorrow... we had like an entire coffee can full of spindles. Not the newer 'ribbed' ones, though.
 
Range I used to shoot at used golf Tees, and when necessary, made 1" cardboard discs (white on one side, black on the other) that the Tee could be inserted through to aid visibility
