spitzer bullets for match shooting

curious if anyone has found spitzer type bullets
good for match shooting...I shoot the 6.5
creedmoor and decided to try 140 gr sierra bullet
for deer..loaded a few with imr 4350 and shot at
300 yards..the point of impact was almost identicle
to my 123 gr hornady a max...and the seemed to
group almost as well despite the cold temp..i might
get another box of them and do some load testing
for the hell of it.....

Yes, I have done it.

I used to shoot NRA High Power Rifle Silhouette. The key to the game (Turkeys aside) is hitting and knocking over the 55 pound Rams at 500 meters and finding a way to do so with adequate accuracy and manageable recoil.

According to Sierra the MK's have a thinner jacket and was hoping to gain some additional push on the Ram with the heavier jacket of the SP.

You give up some BC with the SP bullets which does impact the equation and possibly some accuracy depending on what you compare them to.

What would be your benefit to using SP type bullets?

BTW, I went back to the 142 MK's. Too much of a delta in BC, .495 vs .626.
