Spirit of America Match Results

Lige put the beat down on us at 1000 today in F-TR.

I've seen mid string misses scored in the last few days. (not x-fires, blown off the target misses)

We shot the matches yesterday in reverse order to not have to shoot at 1000 in high 20s gusting over 30. Look at the 300 yard scores and just imagine the carnage at 1000. Not everyone agreed with the idea, but that's how it was shot.

Trudy said there were 5 switches in our relay at 1000 today, I can't veryfy that, I just know somewhere in there I just got lost.

Raton has definitely been living up to it's reputation.

Two more days. ;D

Hang in there, its only wind....... :o ::) ;D........You're shooting well, keep it up!

Ole Lige has been around the block a time or three there, he knows the drill.......... ;D

I wish i was there with y'all but this darn thing called work tends to get in the way at times......... :P ;D

This looks like too much fun. I really want to go to this next year.

Raton is definitely not disappointing this yr, by the time you get to 900/1000 things get down right frisky here.

This is a really fun match. I am becoming very fond of the whole pair firing routine. We should shoot more matches that way in the US.

Great shooting and congrats to the winners.

Wade, that was outstanding shooting, more so with the x count. Strong.

Congratulations to all the winners: Trudie, Earl & Wade. They each triumphed in convincing fashion. One of these three succeeded by making "wild a** guesses" on a daily basis, I'll let you figure out who said that. ;D

This was the first trip to Raton for Christine and I and all I can say is this should be MUST attend destination for every F-class shooter that wants to improve their shooting and wind-reading skills. This has got to be one of the toughest and most beautiful ranges in the world and we had a blast both on and off the range. The Bald Eagles Rifle Club did a great job conducting the match and everything was run in a very orderly and pleasant matter.

I was very impressed with Wade Fillingame's skills. Every time I thought I shot a good string in difficult conditions, Wade was always a point or two ahead....nice job Tall One. Anyway, my hope is to see a LOT more F-class shooters at this match in the years to come. This range is too good to miss.

Steve Rossi's famous gumbo night at the Founders Cabins!

Is that 20mph or 25mph? Guess wrong and you might be off the target! ;)

No antelope were harmed in the conduct of this match.....no matter how many times they attempted to commit suicide. ;D

Thanks Scott, and a big thanks to you, Christine, Walter and Anna for the hospitality. Having some time to hang out with other folks and share a beer, food, and recount shooting stories is way more fun than table for 1 and going back to the motel.
