SPF Winchester 70 Coyote 243 Win

And for anybody stuck on it: The post-64 70's are actually a really fine action. They combined the pre-64 receiver rigidity with a cylindrical bolt, and have good triggers and the 3-position safety. Flat face bolts, with no claw extractor mean a safer breech, in the event of a head failure.

Yes, it's a push feed, but do you often face lions, or chamber rounds while skydiving? And at any rate, so are the 721/7/700/40X and the 10/110, and those pass the gunrag sniff test just fine...

To only hear purists on the pre-64 (which I do own and dearly love), you'd think the post-64 a failure. Farrrrr from it; overall, tbh, it's a better design.

The big green machine's 700 won the war, but not because of a better action.

I bought one of these a long time ago in .243 Win. I used it for shooting some matches a local range, shooting Silhouette. It got me the 5 turkeys kitty, using the 70 grain Ballistic Tips. This shot well under MOA with those 70s, and with the Sierra 85 HPBT bullet. It even shot the Hornady 100 BTSP to MOA when I wanted to use it for deer. The 10 twist did not like the 105 AMax bullets though.
I've since rebarreled it to 6mmBR, and it continues to be a favorite.
A really nice rifle with a heavy/sporter contour barrel, and fantastic laminated stock.
Someone please buy this!
